SMRTi Books brings more color to children's books

SMRTi Books

'The Monster School' and 'Jeff & Jeena' are self-published by SMRTi Books. SMRT are the first letters of all four (!) surnames of author Varishna. Smrti comes from Sanskrit and means 'to remember'. That's how SMRTi Books started; we want to remember the stories that we tell each other by writing them down and sharing them with the world.

SMRTi Books wants to bring more color and culture to children's books, so that children's books are much more a reflection of the world we live in. With SMRTi Books, Varishna and her children Avantika & Atharva support a number of charities. For example, we fundraised for the victims of the war in Ukraine and the earthquake in Turkey & Syria. The proceeds of the Jeff & Jeena series support the Giraffe Conservation Foundation in Kenya.

The beautiful illustrations and design of The Monster School are provided by Ashna Jhoeri of Aashiqana Design (www.aashiqana.nl). The cheerful illustrations and design of Jeff & Jeena are provided by Olha Dobrovolska, a young talented illustrator from Ukraine.

Would you like to offer our books in your store, such as a bookstore or toy store? Then you can contact varishna@smrtibooks.nl.

Our books are available at a bookstore discount. The Monster School is also available through the Centraal Boekhuis.
